Floodplain Restoration & Managed Access Plan
TRLF’s current priority is to create a Truckee River Corridor Floodplain Restoration & Managed Access Plan (Plan) from Tahoe City to the Nevada State line. The first phase will be the section of river from Highway 89 in Placer County to the mouth of Trout Creek in downtown Truckee. We plan to build upon the recently approved Town of Truckee R3 (Restore Revive Reimagine) Playbook, emphasizing floodplain restoration and sustainable access to the river.
The purpose of the Plan is to identify sites and specific projects that will improve riparian corridor functionality and habitat and create sustainable access to the Truckee River.
The proposed Plan will engage a variety of stakeholders to identify and prioritize sites for floodplain restoration and sustainable river access on public and private land.
